As Scott Forbes and the Diamond Heels head into the postseason with high expectations, this year ironically marks the 20-year anniversary of a club most responsible for creating those annual expectations. Prior to 2006, Omaha was a nice idea for Carolina Baseball, but was hardly the annual target that the program now preps for.
In a special podcast, some of the leaders of that memorable squad joined Joey Powell to look back at the off-the-field bonds, the on-field heroics, and the pain that morphed into an incredible legacy on Tar Heel Baseball today. Hear Chad Flack, Matt Danford, Andrew Carignan, Josh Horton, Daniel Bard, and Andrew Miller give a peek into the lockerroom, the bus rides, the dogpiles, and everything in between and learn just how the baseball program that is a perennial contender today was once just a group of guys trying to be better than the rough season prior.
