BOLD CALL: Red Sox Slot Adley Rutschman 3rd—Will This Position BOOST or BREAK the Offense?

The Boston Red Sox gamble on Adley Rutschman in the heart of the order, but is hitting 3rd too much, too soon for their prized trade deadline acquisition? Gabby Maljanian breaks down Rutschman’s debut, lineup pressure points, and why Boston’s offense suddenly can’t drive in runs. Key players like Willson Contreras and Wilyer Abreu face scrutiny as the Red Sox drop their fourth straight, leaving fans questioning if offensive fatigue or lineup shuffles are to blame.

Red Sox prospect Mikey Romero’s historic 6-for-6 day for Worcester adds a glimmer of hope—and raises bigger questions about player development and roster moves after the loss of top prospects in the Rutschman deal. How will veterans like Sonny Gray and Contreras guide this young roster through adversity, and can Boston’s bats snap their scoring slump before it derails the playoff push? Don’t miss this comprehensive look at the Red Sox’s season-defining stretch, and hear from Romero firsthand about his big season with the WooSox.
