Frimpong Transfer Latest: Saudi Interest vs Liverpool’s Plan

Newsround with Dave Davis | Frimpong's Saudi Escape Route, Nyoni's Rise and Liverpool's Palace Test

Part 1.

Dave Davis returns with another edition of Newsround on Anfield Index, bringing you the latest Liverpool FC news, transfer rumours and team updates ahead of Sunday's crucial Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

The biggest transfer talking point surrounds Jeremie Frimpong, with reports suggesting the Liverpool defender is open to a move to Saudi Arabia and has been offered to Al-Hilal.

After a frustrating spell at Anfield, could Liverpool recover their £35 million investment and move on from a transfer that has failed to deliver? Dave discusses the potential involvement of former Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes and why an exit could make sense for everyone involved.

Attention then turns to Trey Nyoni, whose remarkable development continues to impress. With Liverpool reportedly in advanced talks over a new contract, Dave argues that the young midfielder has earned his place in Andoni Iraola's starting XI.

There's also a full preview of Liverpool's trip to Selhurst Park, where Crystal Palace are struggling for form and will be without Jean-Philippe Mateta and Ismaila Sarr.

With Liverpool coming off consecutive defeats, Dave insists there can be no excuses for failing to secure three points.

Iraola's recent comments also come under the spotlight, including Liverpool's attacking struggles, defensive mistakes in Europe and whether the Reds need to become more streetwise when dealing with referees.

Can Liverpool bounce back before the international break? Should Nyoni start against Palace? And could Frimpong be heading for a surprise January exit?

All this and more on Newsround with Dave Davis, exclusively on Anfield Index.
