NFC North Week 1 RECAP: Vikings STUN Packers While Bears and Lions Win

Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season delivered a massive shake-up in the NFC North, and the NFC North Roundtable is breaking down ALL of it!

The Minnesota Vikings stunned the Green Bay Packers with a dramatic 39-22 comeback, turning a 22-10 deficit into a dominant finish. Carson Wentz stepped in after Kyler Murray exited with a concussion and helped lead Minnesota's offense, while the Vikings defense completely took over late. Green Bay's offense scored just three points in the second half as Minnesota rattled off 29 unanswered points.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears exploded for 59 points against Carolina, putting Caleb Williams and the Bears offense immediately into the spotlight. Chicago finished with 552 total yards in the historic Week 1 performance.

And the Detroit Lions survived a wild overtime battle against New Orleans, escaping with a 31-30 victory after Jahmyr Gibbs powered the offense with 156 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Now the big questions:

🔥 Are the Vikings the team to beat in the NFC North? 🔥 What went wrong for the Packers after their huge first-half lead? 🔥 Are the Bears actually ready to compete? 🔥 Can the Lions fix their defensive issues? 🔥 What did Week 1 tell us about the division heading into Week 2?
