Can Trey Nyoni Break Into The Liverpool FC First Team This Season?

Media Matters with Dave Davis and David Lynch | Part 2

Dave Davis is joined by Liverpool journalist David Lynch to discuss the remarkable emergence of Trey Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha, with both youngsters producing outstanding performances in Liverpool's Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea.

Lynch delivers a glowing assessment of Nyoni after the 19-year-old dominated midfield against Moisés Caicedo and Roméo Lavia, questioning whether Liverpool should reconsider their midfield recruitment plans to avoid blocking the youngster's development.

Attention also turns to Rio Ngumoha, whose electric display against his former club further highlighted Chelsea's costly decision to allow him to leave. With Bayern Munich previously interested and fresh contract discussions ongoing, Lynch assesses whether the teenager could already command a valuation approaching £100million.

Could Liverpool have two future £100m superstars on their hands?

Elsewhere, Dave and David examine fresh reporting from Ismael Mahmoud suggesting Liverpool could be preparing a new contract offer for Alexis Mac Allister, despite previous indications that an extension was unlikely.

Lynch discusses the potential change in Liverpool's position, Andoni Iraola's influence and whether a shorter contract extension could be the sensible solution.

With Nyoni flourishing and Mac Allister potentially staying longer, could Liverpool's plans for the January transfer window already be changing?
