Zac Thornton hit a bump in the road against the Miami Marlins and the bats stayed cold for the New York Mets in a Saturday loss.
Since being recalled to join the rotation, it has been mostly smooth sailing for Thornton. But this afternoon's outing looked more like the one against the Washington Nationals when he made his big league debut.
He found himself in some trouble early, didn't get help from the defense behind him and the Mets faced an early 3-0 hole.
Tyrone Taylor stayed hot, clubbing a two-run homer that brought the Mets within a run but that was it for the Mets bats on this Saturday afternoon.
