In this episode of the Your Golf Performance Podcast, Brent Dale sits down with elite amateur golfer Kris Clelland, whose remarkable golfing journey recently made headlines around the world. In October 2026, Kris achieved something almost unimaginable at Lynwood Country Club — an albatross on the par-5 16th hole, followed immediately by a hole-in-one on the par-3 17th. Two extraordinary shots on consecutive holes, with the combination estimated at odds of 1 in 72 billion! But there's much more to Kris's story than those two incredible holes.Growing up in Scotland, Kris developed his game through elite junior pathways before eventually moving to Australia and building a successful corporate career. Despite the demands of full-time work, he has continued improving, reaching an impressive +5 handicap. We dive into how Kris structures his practice, manages his time, approaches competition and continues pushing the boundaries of his own performance. We explore the difference between practising more and practising better, the importance of having a clear purpose, managing expectations, accepting imperfect golf and developing the mindset required to perform at an elite level.Whether you're a competitive junior, aspiring elite amateur or everyday golfer trying to improve around work and family commitments, this episode is packed with valuable insights into what it really takes to get better at golf.Because improving your golf isn't always about finding more time — it's about making better use of the time you have.
