Denny to Dale Jr.: “This Is the Part of You I Don’t Like”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. joins Denny Hamlin to break down a busy weekend at Martinsville and everything that’s coming down to the wire as NASCAR heads to Homestead.

The guys get into the Truck and O’Reilly Series races, the championship picture and why stage points have become such a big part of the conversation. They also debate the new Chase format, how drivers are racing each other these days and whether things have gotten a little too aggressive.

Carson Hocevar’s run-ins at Martinsville spark a bigger conversation about where NASCAR draws the line between hard racing and crossing it. Dale and Denny also get into the cost of the Next Gen car, softer bumpers and what it could mean for the future of the sport.

Plus, Denny explains where things went wrong for the 11 team on Sunday, reflects on another frustrating day of execution and looks ahead to Homestead. The guys also discuss William Byron’s win, the longest green-flag run at Martinsville since 1987 and what might be contributing to the ups and downs of short-track racing.

Denny also reflects on his season, which includes a series-best six poles, and what the team needs to do differently heading into the final race. Then, it's off to the Freedom Factory to race with his friend Alex and Cleetus McFarland.
