This News Made Me Sad Regarding Auburn Football

Auburn Tigers fans confront tough realities as talk swirls about expanding the College Football Playoff to 24 teams. Zac Blackerby and Darrell Dapprich unpack why even an expanded postseason feels out of reach for Auburn, sparking fresh debate over the program’s current trajectory and the mindset of settling for “moral victories.” Can Auburn regain its edge, or has the bar been permanently lowered?

Key topics include Auburn’s historical playoff near-misses, fan mentality shifts, and specific challenges facing the Tigers against SEC powerhouses like Georgia and LSU. The conversation covers Byrum Brown’s must-have performance, offensive line concerns centered on Cole Best, and whether Auburn’s defense can step up against top competition. With game predictions and candid frustration, this episode pulls no punches about what it will take for Auburn to move from hopeful to contender in the college football landscape.
