WINNER: San Jose Sharks Lock Up Collin Graf—Why This Deal BEATS Recent NHL Comparables

San Jose Sharks lock in Collin Graf with a 3-year, $4.25 million deal—was this one of the best value contracts of the offseason? JD Young reacts to Graf’s extension and breaks down where the dynamic winger now slots in among the team’s highest-paid forwards. The analysis covers Graf’s rapid rise from undrafted college standout at Quinnipiac to vital penalty killer and versatile asset alongside Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith.

Comparing Graf’s contract to those of Dylan Holloway, Egor Chinakhov, Mackie Samoskevich, and Arseny Gritsyuk, JD Young explains why the Sharks’ front office may have struck gold on both term and salary. The episode also explores the looming question of Will Smith’s potential contract extension: Will San Jose GM Mike Grier strike another early deal, or let things play out with an eye on the rising salary cap? Sharks fans get all the insights on roster strategy as training camp approaches.
