Welcome to GM Territory! Former Big League executive and FT Resident GM Jim Bowden hosts with his son Trey.
This week, the Bowdens tackle one of the biggest issues facing Major League Baseball: the upcoming Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations. With the current CBA set to expire after the 2026 season, Jim breaks down the key battlegrounds that could shape the next labor agreement, including the luxury tax system, revenue sharing, salary arbitration, player compensation, service time, and the growing divide between large-market and small-market clubs. The duo discusses what owners and players are likely to prioritize, where the biggest points of conflict could emerge, and whether baseball is headed toward labor peace or another work stoppage.
Jim also provides unique insight from his time in front offices and previous labor negotiations, explaining how MLB executives prepare for these discussions behind the scenes.
Subscribe to GM Territory! The Bowdens break down trades, drafts, scouting, analytics, player development, front office strategy, labor issues, and inside information from all 30 Major League Baseball organizations year-round. Part of the Foul Territory Network. ⚾️🎙️
