SOUTHAMPTON [A] the verdict ... spirited performance against promotion hopefuls

Despite twice allowing the Saints to draw level this was a good performance against a Southampton team who still have hopes of automatic promotion.

The much maligned Delano Burgzorg put in his best display so far in a City shirt to such a level that it brought favourable words from Roy Hodgson.
