ALISSON'S LIVERPOOL FUTURE IN DOUBT? David Lynch Raises Summer Exit

Media Matters with Dave Davis and David Lynch | Alisson's Future, Iraola's Gamble and Liverpool's Istanbul Disaster

Part 1.

Dave Davis is joined by respected Liverpool journalist David Lynch for another edition of Media Matters on Anfield Index, reflecting on Liverpool's disappointing 3–2 Champions League defeat against Fenerbahçe.

Was this Andoni Iraola's worst performance as Liverpool manager?

Despite dominating possession and creating opportunities, Liverpool suffered a damaging defeat in Istanbul, with Lynch questioning whether Iraola weakened his side too much through rotation.

The absence of Ronald Araujo proved particularly costly, as Liverpool conceded three goals from set-piece situations. Lynch explains why the Uruguayan defender has transformed Liverpool's defensive strength this season and why his aerial presence was badly missed.

Jeremy Jacquet's individual mistakes also come under scrutiny, although Lynch urges supporters to remember the young defender's outstanding performances throughout the campaign.

Attention then turns to Alisson Becker, with Lynch raising significant questions about the Brazilian goalkeeper's long-term future at Anfield.

Following another difficult performance, could Liverpool be approaching a major goalkeeping decision next summer? Lynch discusses Alisson's declining consistency, his previous links with Juventus and whether the club may eventually consider moving in a different direction.

There are positives, however, with Trey Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha continuing to demonstrate their immense potential. Lynch praises Nyoni's exceptional passing ability and explains why the youngster could provide the midfield progression Liverpool have missed since Trent Alexander-Arnold's departure.

All this and more on Media Matters with Dave Davis and David Lynch, exclusively on Anfield Index.
