PHILLIES POSTCAST: Philadelphia Phillies PLATE 5 in the 9th, COMEBACK (again), beat Nationals, 10-5

The Philadelphia Phillies KEEP THE 9th INNIN MAGIC going, as they beat the Washington Nationals, 10-5.  

Christopher Sanchez got the start for the Phillies and put in an EXTREMELY abnormal night of work. The lefty allowed five runs on seven hits, one walk and one hit batter. It was Sanchez’ worst start since he allowed six runs on 12 hits over 5.1ip against the Cubs on April 23rd.

The Phillies offense began to pick up their starter in the 6th when Brandon Marsh smacked a two-run homer to right-center to make it a 5-2 ball game. Then in the 7th, the Phillies showed A LOT of patience, allowing the Nationals’ bullpen to walk in two runs. In total in the 7th, the Phillies plated three to tie the score at five.

Then, very typical of this series, the Phillies EXPLODED for five runs in the 9th inning! Bryce Harper broke the 5-5 tie with a to-run homer to left, followed by an RBI double by J.T. Realmuto and a two-run homer by Derek Hill.
