Liverpool’s right-back situation is becoming one of the most fascinating parts of the transfer window. The club like several options, including Marco Palestra, Michael Kayode and Oscar Mingueza, but there is a clear reluctance to pay top money while Jeremy Frimpong, Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley remain on the books. The issue is not whether Liverpool admire the players, it is whether spending €50m on another full-back makes sense when the squad could end the season with four players capable of playing there.
