ORIOLES POSTCAST: Luis De León THROWN into the fire as Baltimore Orioles lose to Colorado Rockies

What a brutally frustrating Orioles loss. The Orioles fell 4-2 to the Colorado Rockies after rookie left-hander Luis De León was called up when rosters expanded on September 1 ... and was immediately put into one of the toughest possible situations in his MLB debut. Craig Albernaz said before the game, “We’re not going to ambush him and throw him in the fire right away.” Then, with the game tied 2-2, De Leon entered. A Jackson Holliday error on a Mickey Moniak pop-up extended the inning, and one out later T.J. Rumfield crushed a hanging slider for the go-ahead homer. De León deserved better. He threw just 15 pitches, struck out Hunter Goodman, and had to make his major-league debut in a tie game while the Orioles’ defense failed behind him.
