November 5 - 2026 Fighting Illini Basketball Preview

🎙️ The JAVAMEN are back — and the #3 Fighting Illini are putting up VIDEO GAME numbers

Java Suds and Java Shaps are back to kick off another season of Illinois basketball, and Brad Underwood's squad is off to a ridiculous start. Two games, 232 points, and an offense that looks completely different from last year.

🏀 Illinois Basketball — The New Era

• The Illini dismantle FDU (120–45) and Penn (112–70), averaging an absurd 116 points per game.
• Tyler Underwood has completely revamped the offense. Faster pace, relentless attacking, and a rotation that could go 10 deep.
• Andre Stojakovic looks like an All-Big Ten star, while the freshmen are already turning heads.
• Injury concerns surrounding David Mirkovic and Jake Davis. How much will their absences impact this team's championship aspirations?
• Can this new-look offense work against elite competition?

🏴‍☠️ Captain of the Ship & Walk the Plank

• Suds and Shaps name their early-season captains, including a SHOCKING change of heart.
• The NCAA's March Madness expansion and the complete lack of transparency surrounding college injury reports are sent straight to the plank.

🏈 Illinois Football — Salvaging the Season

• The Illini are 5–3 and looking to secure bowl eligibility.
• A huge Friday night showdown with Nebraska. Can Illinois send Matt Rhule packing?
• Colin Dixon's incredible season, defensive improvements, and the remaining path to seven wins.
• Illinois schedules a home-and-home with Notre Dame. Is a Javamen road trip to South Bend already in the works?

The basketball season is here, expectations are sky-high, and the road to Detroit has officially begun.
