Crystal Palace 2 - 3 Ipswich

A gut-wrenching afternoon at Selhurst Park saw a valiant 10-man Crystal Palace fall to a cruel 3-2 defeat against Ipswich Town after substitute Zian Flemming bundled home a 90th-minute winner for the visitors. Pierre Sage's side had flown out of the traps, taking a deserved lead through Anan Khalaili's low drive and dominating the opening exchanges, only to see the contest swing dramatically when Emersonn leveled against the run of play and Axel Disasi was shown a straight red card just after the half-hour mark. Even after Leif Davis headed Ipswich ahead right before the interval, the Eagles displayed immense courage and tactical fight in the second half, dragging themselves level through Jørgen Strand Larsen's magnificent 75th-minute turn and finish. Palace pushed to take all three points despite the man disadvantage, but a cruel bounce off the crossbar in the dying moments broke South London hearts after an otherwise heroic, full-blooded effort.
