Rob grew up with cricket from a very young age as far back as 3-4 years old taking a red cricket bat on holiday with his parents to Wales.
Aged 10 he wrote on an A4 piece of paper that he wanted to become a pro cricketer and stuck it up on his wall.
Aged 18 he played in the U19 world cup with England and two years later he received his first cap for Lancs.
However by his own admission he never really fulfilled his potential as a batter in county cricket and so earlier this year decided to retire from the game and turn to coaching where he will start working with Glamorgan next month.
