Tim Howard Sets the Saves Record – World Cup ‘14 | Unfiltered Soccer

As we continue building up to the 2026 World Cup here in North America, United States Men's National Team legends Landon Donovan and Tim Howard are looking back on some of the most iconic moments in American soccer history.  And today, it’s all about Tim!  

Following a strong showing in the group stage of the 2014 World Cup, the U.S. advanced to the knockout round where tournament dark horse Belgium were waiting for them.  Over the course of 90 minutes, the Belgians threw everything they had at the Americans but could not breach the human wall in net also known as Tim Howard.  Finally, in extra time, Belgian superstars Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku managed to break through but not before Howard had set a new World Cup record for saves in a match.   Join Landon and Tim as they look back on this historic moment and relive one of the greatest goalkeeping performances that the tournament has ever seen.
