Pirates Finally Fixed Their Bullpen, But Did They Do Enough?

The Pirates entered the trade deadline with one of baseball’s biggest bullpen problems. They left it with Luke Weaver, Camilo Doval, Kirby Yates and Lake Bachar.

Alex Stumpf breaks down how each addition fits, why the Pirates finally have legitimate high-leverage options and how the new group could remain together beyond this season. He also examines whether Pittsburgh focused too heavily on the bullpen after injuries to Mitch Keller and Ryan O’Hearn created new concerns in the rotation and outfield.

Was fixing the bullpen enough, or should the Pirates have added another starter or right-handed bat?
