DOLPHINS SQUAD SHOW: Miami Dolphins’ Late Rally Falls Short in 31–24 Home Loss to Cincinnati Bengals

The Miami Dolphins are 0–5, and after a 31–24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, the biggest question facing this team is impossible to avoid: Can Malik Willis run an NFL offense well enough to give Miami a chance to win?

GRIES, Kyle Crabbs, and Jeff “Z” Zgonina break down a frustrating performance from Willis and the decisions that shaped the game. Miami had opportunities to stay on schedule and keep drives alive, but too often the ball went toward a harder throw instead of the available read. Willis threw two interceptions, and one of those turnovers gave Cincinnati a short field that turned into a touchdown before halftime.

The show digs into the difference between making a play and taking the play the defense gives you: the hot reads, the open options, the throws into tight windows, and the accuracy Miami needs from its quarterback. Willis made plays with his legs, and the Dolphins kept fighting, but the late rally couldn’t make up for the mistakes that put them behind.

We also get into how Miami tried to manufacture offense, including the end-around to Chris Bell, what the defense did to give the Dolphins a chance, and what the coaching staff has to evaluate during the bye. If Willis is going to lead this team, the offense needs a plan that lets him play on time, take the easy completion, and protect the football. If the staff isn’t convinced he can do that, it has a major decision to make.

Miami falls to 0–5. Cincinnati leaves with the 31–24 win. The Dolphins have a bye week to take a hard look at the quarterback, the offense, and what comes next.

What did you see from Malik Willis? What should Miami do at quarterback after this loss?
