Yankees Offense Has Completely Vanished Against the Rays

The Yankees have managed just five hits and two runs through two games against the Rays, turning their 2-0 series deficit into much more than a defensive problem. After the offense exploded against Boston, Evan Roberts and Tiki Barber are stunned by how quickly the bats have disappeared with the season hanging in the balance.

Yankees fans unload on Aaron Boone’s approach, questioning whether his public support of players has created a lack of accountability when costly mistakes keep happening. The bigger concern is an increasingly familiar postseason pattern: the Yankees beat teams they’re supposed to beat, but struggle when facing teams that proved better over the regular season. With elimination approaching, the pressure on Boone, Brian Cashman and the entire roster is only growing.
