NFC West Roundtable: Week 1 RECAP | 49ers DESTROY Rams, Cards STUN LA, Seahawks D STIFLES Pats

Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season delivered some HUGE surprises across the NFC West!

The San Francisco 49ers made the biggest statement of the weekend, dominating the Los Angeles Rams 27-7 in the NFL's first regular-season game in Australia. Brock Purdy threw three touchdowns, Christian McCaffrey helped lead the ground game, and San Francisco's defense made life extremely difficult for Matthew Stafford and the Rams.

But the 49ers weren't the only NFC West team making noise.

The Arizona Cardinals stunned the Los Angeles Chargers 26-14, controlling the game with an aggressive defense while Jacoby Brissett threw for 277 yards and a touchdown. Trey McBride also delivered a huge performance with 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.

And then there's Seattle.

The Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 13-10 behind a defense that forced three fourth-quarter interceptions from Drake Maye. Seattle also had to adjust after Sam Darnold suffered a hip injury, with Drew Lock stepping in.

So what did we actually learn?

Are the 49ers suddenly the team to beat? Was the Rams' Week 1 performance a warning sign? Are the Cardinals legitimate contenders? And can Seattle's defense carry the team while Darnold deals with his injury?

The NFC West Roundtable breaks down all four teams, the biggest Week 1 surprises, standout performances and what comes next.

Three teams are 1-0. The Rams are 0-1. The NFC West is WIDE OPEN!
