Is It Time For The Knicks To Trade Mikal Bridges?

Gavin Schall and XJ debate if the time has come for the New York Knicks to consider trading Mikal Bridges!

The conversation focused on how Bridges’ hefty contract and inconsistent early-season performance could force the Knicks’ hand as the team grapples with salary cap constraints and a pressing need for a reliable backup center.

A key theme that emerged was whether the trio of Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, and Karl-Anthony Towns forms the team’s true core, with everyone else, even Bridges, potentially expendable.

The discussion explored possible trade scenarios involving Isaiah Hartenstein, Daniel Gafford, or Myles Turner, and raised critical questions about the importance of wing depth versus size. Several points were raised, including the value of Deuce McBride, the limits of positional flexibility, and the real impact of losing Bridges on the Knicks’ playoff chances and defensive identity. Is New York’s championship formula due for an unexpected twist?
