Pirates Hold Off Brewers Behind Horwitz and a New-Look Bullpen

Spencer Horwitz wasted no time making an impact in his return to the Pirates lineup.

Horwitz delivered a bases-clearing double to give Pittsburgh an early lead, and the Pirates held on for a 4-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. Neil and Doug discuss Horwitz’s importance to the lineup, another strong performance from Endy Rodríguez, Esmerlyn Valdez walking three times and Bubba Chandler battling through 5.2 innings.

They also break down another costly defensive mistake from Nick Gonzales and an encouraging night for the rebuilt bullpen, with Gregory Soto escaping trouble before Camilo Doval and Mason Montgomery slammed the door.

The Pirates have now won four straight games against Milwaukee. Can the healthier lineup and new-look bullpen finally help them put together a legitimate run?
