Ebuka Okorie continues to battle through an up-and-down NBA Summer League as the Detroit Pistons face the Phoenix Suns. Today on the Pistons Talk Podcast, Anthony breaks down Okorie’s performance, Brice Williams’ scoring, Chaz Lanier finding his three-point shot, Isaac Jones’ physical play and Ugonna Onyenso’s fourth-quarter spark.
Phoenix opened the game with a 10–0 run as Detroit settled for too many three-pointers. The Pistons’ bench provided better energy, with Drake Allen running point and Roddy Gayle Jr. returning to the lineup. Okorie showed flashes with two finishes off the glass, a step-back three and several aggressive drives to the basket.
The Pistons made nine of their final 10 shots before halftime behind Lanier and Jones. Williams helped Detroit take its first lead, but Khaman Maluach and the Suns responded. We go quarter by quarter and discuss what is working, what needs to improve and whether Pistons fans should be concerned about Okorie’s early struggles.
