60: Shirin Shabestari on Mountain Adventures, Curiosity & Expanding Access to the Sport

So excited to welcome Shirin for a new episode. Her story begins in the mountains of Iran, growing up climbing alongside her dad, where she fell in love with adventure and the outdoors. Her connection to the mountains never left her and she kept it alive by leading expeditions back in Iran, becoming a climbing instructor and more recently, getting into ultra-running. We talk about coming into the sport with a mountaineering background, embracing the process, finding friendships and the curiosity and excitement for all the ultra challenges she has taken on and dreams of next. She also tells us more about her work with Into Ultra, that aims to provide financial support to runners so they get the chance to step on their dream start lines too.
