This is a short teaser of a longer video showing the Hardrock course. The place is comically beautiful.

How Tough is The Hardrock 100 Endurance Run? The 'Softrock' - Experiencing the Entire Classic Loop
It is unlikely that you or I will EVER get into the Hardrock 100 Endurance Run. There are very few slots available and a massive lottery to potentially have a chance to run. The course looks amazing and travels through some of the most beautiful alpine territory in the Rocky Mountains. The Hardrock course is over 100 miles with an average altitude in excess of 11,000 feet. There is about 33,000 feet of climbing and descending. Teaming up with three ultra-running friends from different parts of the world a week before the actual Hardrock Race, we tackled the course over back to back days. Resting during the night and returning to the course in the morning until all the ground had been covered. Geared up with www.PathProjects.com clothing, and nutrition from www.Maurten.com we were ready for an adventure. And a LOT happened. Ultra Island - Can I Run an Ultramarathon on this uninhabited Tiny Pacific Island near Fiji?
This would have to be the first distance run ever completed in this seldom visited part of the world. Up until a couple years ago, there was NOTHING on this island at all. Now there is a single house here on Vawa Island, a very unique and special property built by a friend of mine who had a strong vision. I had a few days to enjoy this property and wanted to see if I could pull off a LONG training run of Ultra length (at least 50KM) in the small part of the island that could be used for this effort. Most of the island is dense foliage and sharp rock. So my track on the island was about a quarter mile long. And the weather was HOT and HUMID. The First Monster 300 Endurance Run - My LONGEST Ultramarathon Yet - Long Form Documentary
This race is a MONSTER. This distance would be a new personal best in terms of distance - and likely time on trail as it covers 304 miles with 41,000 feet of climbing. Much of the course follows the Arizona Trail, AZT. I wasn't sure how that would work out given my level of preparedness. It would be entering new territory - literally and figuratively. Please let me know what you think of the video - and stab the thumbs up/subscribe please. Also, share the video if you feel inclined as that helps with visibility. R2R2R with a Newbie Across the Grand Canyon and Back - How did she do???
Two newbies came along on the ride for this classic route across the Grand Canyon. For Mauri, it would exceed her longest effort to date, a marathon, by 20 miles. It was a great training day - and super quiet in terms of traffic. Temperatures were cool and there was snow on the North Rim. We opted for the South Kaibab route down to Phantom Ranch and hoped to get this done within a day's time. It would be my third time doing R2R2R. How do you think Mauri did surviving??? Tagging the Highest Point in Lesotho, Africa - Thabana Ntlenyana Mountain
My friend Chris and I wanted to climb to the highest point in the small country of Lesotho, which is completely surrounded by a border with South Africa. The area is seldom visited and the peak is in a remote part of the country without a real trail to get to the objective. It was COLD when we started and route finding was a bit of an adventure. Exploring Slot Canyons and Epic Arches in Cederberg Wilderness Area, South Africa - Wolfberg Cracks
This is a first class adventure in unique and rugged rocky terrain. The Wolfberg Cracks are such an unlikely route with massive free standing arches tucked into a slot canyon. And the Wolfberg Arch is so remote and dramatic, it is worth the effort to reach it. Supai After the FLOOD - Alone in Havasupai all the way to the Colorado River
In Sept 2024, Havasupai was closed to any outside visitors after a deadly flash flood situation blasted through the area stranding visitors, damaging infrastructure and sweeping away camps. Our small group headed down from the Hulapai Hilltop before dawn lightly loaded on the first day visitors were allowed back in. This proved to be a very unusual and unique opportunity as there were no other people ahead of us after a certain point - and no one had made it down to make camp yet. We had the entire place to ourselves for most of the day.
