Blackburn Rovers have their first Championship win of the season — but with the transfer deadline looming, Tony Mowbray’s squad is already looking desperately short.

Rovers came from behind to beat Middlesbrough at Ewood Park, building on the hugely encouraging opening-night performance at Wolves and giving Mowbray his first league victory of the new campaign.

But just days later, Rovers were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Sheffield United — and an injury to Yuki Ohashi has highlighted a major problem.

Blackburn are now down to just ONE fit senior striker, with the transfer window about to close.
