As the WNBA continues its historic rise in popularity, the unprecedented growth has brought a dark side: toxic fandom, racism, and death threats.
ESPN's Alexa Philippou joins Women's Sports Now to discuss the WNBA's "No Space For Hate" AI tool and whether the league is doing enough to protect players like Chelsea Gray off the court. The crew dives into how social media algorithms and the intense rise of sports betting are fueling the vitriol, and what actionable steps the WNBA must take to ensure the safety of its athletes. Your weekly home for WNBA news, NCAA women's basketball, NWSL, and everything happening in women's sports right now.
Women's Sports Now is the show for real conversations about the week's biggest moments in women's sports — from the WNBA Draft to March Madness, the NWSL season, Wimbledon, and beyond. Every week, our expert panel breaks down the headlines, brings insider coverage, and cuts through the noise with unique perspectives you won't get anywhere else.
