An icon of the clubs he managed including Dinamo București, Brescia, Rapid București, Galatasaray, Beşiktaş, Dynamo Kyiv, and most notably Shakhtar Donetsk. And also of course for the Romanian men's national team, which he managed right up to the month of his death.
