Consistency beats perfection. Marcus Barton on why missing one workout should never turn into two.
Keep the session moving with another watch from the same channel.
We are back with our third race report of 2026, fresh off Folsom Swimrun long course, a race some version of the Löw Tide Böyz has raced every single year for five years running. Spoiler alert, the dynasty continues with another overall team win, but with ÖTILLÖ Casco Bay two weeks out, we treated this one as a B race and a tune up.
We break down what it looks like to race a lower stakes event without a strategy conversation, and why fifteen years of training together means we do not need one. We also dig into how deep our Novato swim community ran on the podium this year.
We get into our gear calls for a race with triple digit air temps and cold, dam fed water, our Vigg wetsuit choices, our shoe picks, and the nutrition and hydration protocol we have been refining, including a caffeine timing strategy that made a real difference. We walk the full nine miles leg by leg, from the opening upriver swim to the finish, plus the community moments that make this race worth doing every year.
With ÖTILLÖ Casco Bay coming up, our fifth year racing it and our first time in the veteran category, we talk about what a strong showing at Folsom means for our confidence heading into Maine.
