Coming off of two back-to-back losses, The Crown entered Washington, D.C. with one goal in mind—to win and clinch a home playoff match. Missing three of its core members in center back Adilson Malanda, Captain Ashley Westwood and midfielder Brandt Bronico, the Black & Blue used its "next man up" mentality to push forward. With a two-man advantage and a goal from Wilfried Zaha, the Club secured a crucial three points heading into the final match of the 2025 regular season.
