WSU launches $2.5M fundraising campaign (with $500k in matches) across Washington & beyond!

WSU Assistant Athletic Director Josh Jordan and Coug alum & donor Glenn Osterhout join us to outline WSU's newest fundraising campaign for 2026.

*Campaign Snapshot*
Launch Date: As early as Thursday February 5th, 2025 *pending the landing page build out
Overall Goal: $2.5 million (no end date)
Gift Account: Football Excellence Fund (NIL)
Structure: Regional, competition-based campaign with matching incentives

*How the Campaign Works*
Washington State has been divided into four regions, with a fifth “Out-of-State” region. When making a gift, donors will select a region, creating a friendly competition among Cougar fans and alumni.

*Regional Goals*
Northwest: $800,000
Northeast / Coeur d’Alene: $600,000
Southeast: $400,000
Southwest / Portland: $400,000
Out-of-State / Beyond WA: $300,000

Goals are based on population and historical CAF membership to ensure balance across regions.

Matching Gifts & Incentives
Nearly half a million in matching gifts has been secured to date
Each region will receive a $25,000 match upon reaching $100,000 raised
An additional $25,000 match will be awarded to the first two regions to hit $100,000
Additional matching “mini-challenges” will be deployed strategically throughout the campaign, potentially extending into Fall 2026

First 40 donors at the $25,000+ (one-time or pledged over 5 years) level will be eligible for sponsor recognition on the CAF landing page and will have the opportunity to name a football locker as part of the current renovation (limited availability).

*Operations & Reporting*
The CAF website will host a dedicated campaign landing page with regional graphics and progress tracking
Totals by region will be updated weekly on Mondays
