Tuesday was a franchise-altering day for the Phillies. Dave Dombrowski fired Rob Thomson as manager. He hired Don Mattingly, who was his second choice. (Bet the farm Alex Cora gets the job next year.)
Dombrowski detailed Thomson’s firing and answered questions about his own job performance. Mattingly discussed his expectations. Thomson made himself available to Philly reporters one final time.
