Eileen Gu is an Olympic freestyle skiing champion, fashion icon, and global role model—all before her 20th birthday. At the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, she won gold in big air and halfpipe and silver in slopestyle, becoming the first freestyle skier to win three medals at a single Olympics. Born in San Francisco to a US American father and Chinese mother, she decided as a teenager to compete for China.
In addition to Olympic gold, she is a multiple world and X Games champion, speaks fluent Mandarin and English, and studies at Stanford University. Gu also makes headlines off the slopes: in 2022, Time Magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world, in 2023 she topped Forbes' list of top earners in women's sports, and she works successfully as a model for luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co.
