GAME-CHANGING: Boston Red Sox Eye CJ Abrams, Elly De La Cruz—Who TRANSFORMS the Lineup MOST?

The Boston Red Sox ramp up pursuit of a blockbuster shortstop as trade rumors swirl around Elly De La Cruz and CJ Abrams. Could Abrams’ combination of power, speed, and team-friendly contract make him the ideal fit, or should the Sox pay a premium for De La Cruz’s superstar potential? Offensive production, defensive value, and trade cost all hang in the balance as the debate heats up.

Key discussion points include the strengths and weaknesses of each target, potential trade packages, and how adding either player could shift the Red Sox’s playoff aspirations. The conversation also breaks down Boston’s latest transaction, sending Eduardo Rivera to the St. Louis Cardinals for 18-year-old pitching prospect Juan Carlos García—spotlighting the team’s focus on organizational depth and roster management. Are the Red Sox ready to make the move that puts them over the top?
