The biggest storyline for Cincinnati is the health of its receiving corps. Ja'Marr Chase remains in concussion protocol, while Tee Higgins is dealing with groin and neck injuries. Both were listed as questionable Friday, creating uncertainty surrounding Joe Burrow's top two targets. With Andrei Iosivas already on injured reserve, the Bengals could again lean heavily on Dohnte Meyers and Mitchell Tinsley.
Both contributed against Jacksonville, with Meyers catching seven passes for 82 yards and Tinsley adding three receptions for 49 yards. Tight end Mike Gesicki and running back Chase Brown could also play expanded roles in Cincinnati's passing attack.
Establishing the running game will be another priority. Cincinnati managed just 23 rushing yards against Jacksonville, its lowest total of the season. Miami's defense has allowed only 3.6 yards per carry, making improvement on the ground a difficult but important challenge for Zac Taylor's offense.
Defensively, Cincinnati has an opportunity to exploit Miami's struggling offense. The Dolphins are averaging an NFL-worst 11.5 points per game and have scored just four touchdowns through four contests. Quarterback Malik Willis has completed only 56.3 percent of his passes, while Miami has surrendered 11 sacks.
The Bengals enter Sunday ranked third in the NFL with 14 sacks, giving their revamped defensive front an opportunity to control the game. Dexter Lawrence, Jonathan Allen and the rest of Cincinnati's pass rush will be tasked with containing Willis while limiting Miami's opportunities for explosive plays.
The Dolphins are also without running back De'Von Achane, who suffered a torn ACL in Week 3. Rookie Ollie Gordon responded with 100 rushing yards and a touchdown against Minnesota, making him an important player for Cincinnati to contain.
For the Bengals, Sunday's matchup represents an opportunity to regain momentum before their schedule becomes more demanding. A victory would move Cincinnati to 3-2 and prevent a three-game losing streak, while a loss to an 0-4 Miami team would raise serious questions about Cincinnati's ability to capitalize on favorable matchups.
