The Golden State Valkyries are back in the win column. Golden State snapped a two game losing streak with a 96 79 win over the Toronto Tempo, overcoming a second half deficit against a Tempo squad missing All Star Marina Mabrey and recent acquisition Aneesah Morrow.
The win also marked the return of Gabby Williams, the franchise's first ever All Star starter, who was held out of the previous game for reconditioning after starting in the All Star Game. Janelle Salaün led all scorers with 24 points, while Veronica Burton added 17. Williams and Tiffany Hayes each chipped in 15 as Golden State shook off a midgame slump to pull away late.
The Valkyries had dropped games on either side of the All Star break, first to Washington and then to Phoenix, after their franchise record nine game win streak came to an end. This result gets them back on track heading into the next stretch of the season.
