Inspired by Leverkusen’s global reputation as the ‘City of Colours’, a vibrant ‘Terrarium’ shade forms the basis of the design, over which flowing, marbled graphics in ‘Light Surf’, ‘Faded Teal’ and ‘Deep Sea’ extend from the shoulders down to the sleeves. Accents in white and “Deep Black Iris” provide contrast and texture, whilst subtle cross motifs are incorporated into the design – a nod to the Bayer Cross as an integral part of the club’s visual identity.
The jersey, produced by kit supplier New Balance, in which the Werkself will be competing for victories this season during their away fixtures in the Bundesliga, the DFB-Pokal and the Europa League, is a stylish, modern expression of a club steeped in tradition.
