Dylan Larkin's future with the Detroit Red Wings takes centre stage as trade talks reportedly intensify, the former captain is held out of tonight's game against the Chicago Blackhawks, and interim GM Shawn Horcoff prepares to address the media. Jeff Marek and Greg Wyshynski break down the latest developments on today's episode of The Sheet!
With Larkin's trade request still unresolved, the guys examine what his absence from the lineup could mean, where negotiations stand, what Detroit could be looking for in a potential deal, and whether a resolution could finally be approaching.
Jeff and Greg also recap a difficult night for Sergei Bobrovsky and the Toronto Maple Leafs against the Seattle Kraken. After another shaky performance from Toronto's starting goaltender, how concerned should the Leafs be about their situation in net?
The guys then head to Alberta, where Colton Dach's collision with Devin Cooley has sparked controversy following the Flames goaltender's injury. Calgary's lack of response and head coach Ryan Huska's comments raise questions about how the team handled the incident. Plus, why couldn't the Edmonton Oilers sell out another home game, this time for the Battle of Alberta?
Meanwhile, Connor McDavid continues to rewrite the record books, setting a new NHL mark with an assist in each of his first 13 games to start the season.
Michael Russo joins the show to discuss the Minnesota Wild, including Bill Guerin's latest comments surrounding Quinn Hughes' contract negotiations, the Wild's start to the season, Kirill Kaprizov's early brilliance, and what lies ahead for Minnesota.
All that and more on The Sheet with Jeff Marek and Greg Wyshynski!
