Rob Explains Exactly When SGA's Foul-Baiting Actually Becomes a Problem
Basketball
Rob draws a clean line here and I think it's the right one. Foul baiting is only a real problem when refs reward it. If SGA is hitting the floor without contact and the whistle stays in the pocket, that's the system working. The moment those calls start getting made is when we have an issue.
And the point about it hurting his own team is underrated. He ends up on the ground, it's a five on four situation the other way. That's not smart basketball regardless of intent.
Rob's perspective as a former official is exactly what this conversation needed. Refs don't like being baited, and even if the player is just trying to avoid landing on someone's feet, it reads the same way from a ref's vantage point. That context matters. #shorts
