Rams QB Coach Dave Ragone on Stafford's Leadership & the Rams Backup QB Battle

Erin Coscarelli is joined by co-host Rob Havenstein for a wide-ranging sitdown with Rams QB coach and associate offensive coordinator Dave Ragone following the team's preseason opener. Ragone opens up on Matthew Stafford's character before breaking down the developing backup quarterback competition between Stetson Bennett and rookie Ty Simpson, stressing operation at the line, eye discipline, and trust in fundamentals over flash. He gets candid about his own playing career, admitting he once tried to imitate other quarterbacks and lost his own identity, a lesson he now preaches to young Rams learning Sean McVay's offense from the ground up. The conversation also covers how the Rams slowly onboard rookies and free agents, Havenstein's mentorship of Warren McClendon, and a light moment about Havenstein's new gig in the CBS booth alongside Jourdan Rodrigue and J.B. Long.
