Ledecky Reflects on 1,650y American Record: "I think I'm done with that event now"

To start 2026, Katie Ledecky swam the 2nd fastest 1500m Freestyle of All-Time in Austin, 15:23.21. This was just a month removed from her 2025 finale, when she swam the fastest 1,650y Free ever, becoming the first woman to ever to dip under 15 minutes (14:59.62). In Austin yesterday, Ledecky reflected on her 1,650, saying that it had been a goal of hers for over 12 years. She also said she thinks she is now done with the 1,650 freestyle as an event in her career.
