Louisville's Reid Detmers Career Highlight

Reid Detmers is off to a good start to the 2026 season with the Los Angeles Angels. Now in his sixth year in the big leagues, Detmers currently has the best WHIP and strikeout-to-walk ratios of his career. His strikeout numbers should not be a surprise to anyone who saw him pitch in college. Detmers is one of the best strikeout pitchers in Louisville history. Despite being used as a reliever his freshman season and his 2020 season being cut short due to the pandemic, he is still fourth all-time at Louisville with 284 strikeouts. In 2019, he was the ACC Pitcher of the Year and an All-American as he struck out 167 batters and won 13 games, both numbers sit atop the Louisville record book.
