Freshman Sadie Engelhardt of NC State ran 4:40.209 to place 3rd in the mile at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships. Wilma Nielsen of Oregon won in 4:40.06, just ahead of Rosemary Longisa of Washington State in 4:40.201.
Engelhardt discusses the race and her finish after earning a podium spot as a freshman.
