Kane Williamson on His Retirement, That Virat Kohli Chat + The FUTURE of the BLACKCAPS | The Agenda

Kane Williamson sits down with the ACC’s Agenda and BYC crew for the retirement interview you haven’t heard, honest, funny, and only occasionally about his downstairs region.

Williamson opens up on the long road to calling it a day: a decision that floated in his head for “18 months, two years,” a mid-tour moment in Sri Lanka (“what am I doing here?”), and the Lord’s balcony where it finally felt right. He reveals the conversation he had with Virat Kohli the day before announcing, “like looking in the mirror” , two men who understand the pressure at the pointy end of the game like almost no one else.

Then the ACC takes over: the new golf obsession, why his favourite shadow-bat shot is a leave, and the cricket box saga featuring Mitch Marsh and Williamson’s own Cover protection. Plus a sizeable call on the team he’s left behind, “the most talented New Zealand cricket team I’ve ever been a part of”, and why the bowling stocks are the real story.
