JJ Spaun tells the story of losing to Harris English at the 2011 U.S. Amateur Public Links at Bandon Dunes and then ending up shining his shoes the following fall. JJ explains the mistake that cost him during their match and how SDSU players worked in the Torrey Pines locker room to raise money for the golf program. Having Harris turn up for a shoe shine made for a funny reunion, and it’s still an inside joke between them today.
