Last week, Quenton Lanese of Olympia, Washington broke the Freshman Class 1600m Record by less than a second when he ran 4:07.16. Today, he shattered it after a narrow runner up finish in the WIAA Class 4A Championship! His 4:04.59 was just .02 behind winner Amin Fidaar who ran 4:04.57.
He’s headed to Brooks PR to race the freshman mile and I think we need to start mentally preparing ourselves for a serious run at 4:00.
